John's first-ever toe touch!

A Timeline in Toe Touches

Meet Our Guy!

John Kearney is a three-dimensional performer with an inexhaustible work ethic and a diverse dance background. John is a senior pursuing his BFA in Musical Theatre at Montclair State University. He lives in New Jersey, but grew up in Portland, Oregon, where he attended and took full advantage of arts-focused public schools. John was a member and company captain of the Jefferson Dancers, a pre-professional dance company where he studied more than eight styles of dance.

John’s first experiences onstage were primarily performing as a concert dancer (and the occasional JR musical), yet even during his dance-centric years in high school, he still found time to (loudly) sing “She Used to be Mine” in his basement nearly every night. Performing as the pregnant Jenna in Waitress (a fitting emotional outlet for a teenage boy) was just the start of John’s career, and a clear sign to him that musical theatre was the path he wanted to pursue.

As a lover of storytelling, John has always felt called to the expressive power of musical theatre and its ability to explore emotion in a visceral, universal way.
John believes the blend of singing, acting, and dancing is its own language, and it's how he communicates best.

John loves traveling with his family, doing the exercises assigned by his physical therapist, playing video games, rock climbing, and “Family Guy.” He loves his phone so he's cultured, has thick skin, and is incredibly funny. He loves to make people laugh!! Some of his special interests include going on walks and being hired to perform in musicals.

John Kearney did not use ChatGPT to write this bio.
